Information Privacy Notice
The International Association for Ambulatory Surgery holds personal information on Assembly members, contractors and individuals it has contact with. This information will be stored securely, whether electronically or as paper records, so that only authorised people can use it, within the scope of their authority. Such information is only retained for as long as necessary.
The IAAS holds an online database of email addresses in order to send the Newsletter and Journal to subscribers. This database is held securely online and is protected by a 2-stage logon i.e. it requires knowledge of the username, the password and a further random number to grant access. The random number is provided by a certified web secure service.
Only the webmaster has access to this system.
Electronic records are stored on a password-protected computer held by the Officers of the Executive Committee – namely the Honorary Secretary and the Honorary Treasurer. Their laptops have anti-virus and firewall software installed and are regularly backed-up.
General Assembly members will only hold contact details of individuals in touch with them or details discussed during meetings and recorded in minutes.
Paper records are stored in the Honorary Secretary and Honorary Treasurers offices.
